-First Look Demo, Two Weeks Later-

When Last Call was started, it began as a small solo project for my college portfolio, something to pass the time during the end-of-March quarantine.

It turned into realizing a long-dormant idea - a mashup of the horror I grew up loving - with the help of a great friend and artist. Based on the first reactions, it seems you all have seen our intentions clearly.

That's not to say there aren't some things we would not have done differently: some sounds, some of the scripting and level design. The minor details that come with learning and creating something like this for the first time. But you've understood our intentions and enjoyed what's there so far, and we can't wait to show you more.

Some people have wondered what's next for Last Call. Well right now, Kerry Crowe and I are sitting back and gathering feedback. Your comments, videos, and streams help to show us what we did well and what can be improved. We became really invested in the world that we created, and we want your help in realizing that. We do plan on moving into a full game, with intriguing plot threads and gameplay elements we want to try our best to include. That will take time, but it's something we want to do.

However, there might be some content coming down the road sooner than you think. Kerry was talking to me recently about a project related to the Last Call story - a fun way to see the story of the current First Look Demo in a new light. It's very much a work-in-progress, but we'll be happy to share once it gets further.

If you enjoy the Demo, all we ask is to spread the word. We're proud of the work we've done and hope to share it around with players who have those similar passions and interests. Keep an eye here for more, because we haven't reached last call yet.

The story's only just begun.

-Ico, writer/director of Last Call
