-August/September 2021 Development Status-

Been a bit, hasn't it? Hopefully we didn't make anyone think Last Call was abandoned.

The end of summer break approached, and admittedly a few wrenches got thrown into the works. The Delta variant of COVID hitting our area, college classes starting up, and navigating a bit of burnout. But needless to say, we're still here. A small break was needed and - combined with a few other factors - helped to revitalize things.

There won't be a listed changelog as before, since in-engine work was admittedly minimal recently. However, one big update from the art side of Last Call. Kerry Crowe and I have gotten together (following COVID guidelines and precautions) to finish reference photography for one of the big final graphic novel scenes. He was able to find just the right location to shoot in and - even though it was done quick and dirty, a bit like Inland Empire - the references look great and I trust him to bring it to life.

As for in-engine development, that will kick back up soon as well. Got some personal life happenings going on as well, including transferring to a new college as a game design major. I'm sure that'll both keep me busy as well as add further inspiration and input to the project.

There's still time to go - after all, this is a free time project when next to college classes. But we're still making something we care about and can't wait for you all to see.

-Ian Obst, writer/director of Last Call
